Dr. Yamal's Clinic - LAPAROSCOPY SUTURING COURSE IN KENYA

09 Oct, 2023 8:53 AM

Dr Yamal Patel is one of the highly respected trainers at hands-on LAPAROSCOPIC SUTURING WORKSHOP in Nairobi, Kenya – offered at 3rd Park Hospital – The Specialised Hospital in Kenya. Learning by doing provides real laparoscopic surgery experience by allowing the trainee to directly get hands exposure on whatever surgeons are learning, hence develops a sense of empowerment. Emphasis is placed on practical problems that a Laparoscopic Surgeon encounters on a day-to-day basis. It offers a comprehensive laparoscopic surgery training course for general surgeons, gynecologists, and urologists. The training program is designed to provide both basic and advanced theoretical and practical experience to the candidates.

One of the most critical and difficult acts in lap surgery is the knot tying and suturing techniques. The knots performed laparoscopically must be as safe as the ones performed conventionally. Proficiency in suturing is mandatory for advanced operative laparoscopy. Over the duration of the workshop, this suturing course takes you through practical and didactic sessions to cover the art of tissue approximation by suturing using endo-trainers, synthetic and animal tissue models.

This course includes a pre-test and post-test along with an instructional session in a controlled setting. The course equips attendees with improved suturing skills to apply in various surgical situations. With the development and ubiquitous use of minimally invasive surgery, the advanced laparoscopic skill such as suturing is an essential skill for performing laparoscopic procedures.
