All Smiles Dental Practice - Dental Braces Specialists in Nairobi, Kenya

Dental Braces Specialists in Nairobi, Kenya

14 Jul, 2020 2:54 PM

All Smiles Dental Practice is a top level dental clinic in Nairobi and specializes in teeth braces solutions among other orthodontic treatments. Whether you need kids dental braces, teens braces, lingual braces or adult braces made of stainless steel, ceramics, gold plating, and other materials, you are in safe hands of Dr Nisha Sapra, the orthodontist at All Smiles Dental Practice.

Braces are no longer just for kids. Adults with healthy teeth are wearing them too. If jaws and teeth are not growing and developing properly, the orthodontist at All Smiles Dental Practice has vast experience and expertise on dental maintenance to recommend the most beneficial age to begin orthodontic treatment.

Although a little discomfort is expected during treatment, we have braces for teeth alignment that are more comfortable than ever before. Newer materials apply a constant, gentle force to move teeth and usually require fewer adjustments.

After treatment, we recommend to our patients to observe brushing and flossing to remove plaque, a sticky film of bacteria that forms on teeth. If plaque is not removed regularly, it can lead to caries. Patients with braces should maintain a balanced diet and limit between-meal snacks and certain foods that could interfere with braces or accidentally bend the wires.

All Smiles Dental Practice - Why is brushing with toothpaste necessary?

Why is brushing with toothpaste necessary?

21 Aug, 2019 12:23 PM

It is recommended that one brushes their teeth at least twice a day, as this prevents gum diseases and keeps them healthy as well. More importantly, brushing with toothpaste, coupled with correct brushing action helps in removal of harmful film of bacteria, which when not controlled may cause cavities, gum diseases and plaque – resulting in loss of tooth.

Importance of Toothpaste Brushing;
• Toothpaste contains fluoride which makes the entire tooth structure resistant to decay as it promotes remineralisation.
• Toothpaste contains foaming agents, abrasives and detergents that are helpful in repairing effects of early decay before the damage is visible.
• It contains certain ingredients that help in the cleaning, polishing and removal of stains over time
• Even important is the fact that toothpaste glosses breath and leaves your mouth clean with fresh feeling.
• Freshness brought about by toothpaste brushing promotes healthy and pleasant smile on the faces of the users.
• We cannot ignore the very basic importance of good use of toothpaste. It promotes healthy kissing. You can imagine sharing your affections with someone smelly mouth, lips and breathe.

All Smile Dental Practice promotes helpful and friendly tips to promote healthy dental practice and life. Sealants act as barriers, protecting the teeth against decay-causing bacteria. These treatments are usually applied to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth (premolars and molars) where decay occurs more often.

At Dr, Nisha Sapra – All Smile Dental Practice, we offer dental sealants services that are done in a simple, painless way and relatively inexpensive when compared to the costs of filling a cavity. Mostly done to children who cannot take care of their teeth by brushing or flossing properly.

When we do dental sealants procedures, we first examine and determine if the teeth should be sealed. Then we dabbed with a very mild solution similar in strength to vinegar or lemon juice. These will roughen the tooth surface slightly so that the sealant will bond properly to the teeth.

After the tooth has been prepared, the acrylic sealant material is painted onto the tooth. It will flow into the depressions and grooves (pits and fissures) of the tooth, and it hardens in about 60 seconds, after which time bacteria can no longer reach the pits and grooves of the teeth.

A good time to apply sealants is soon after permanent teeth are fully erupted (after 13 years of age).

Before opting for this dental procedure for your child, you can first discuss it with an oral health professional from Dr, Nisha Sapra and see whether it will be beneficial to your child or not.

All Smiles Dental Practice - 6 Dental Hygiene Tips

6 Dental Hygiene Tips

11 Aug, 2016 9:48 AM

It is important to have good oral hygiene. Having poor oral hygiene can lead to a variety of dental and medical problems in the future such as gum disease, infection, bone loss, heart disease, strokes etc. Regular check ups and cleanings can prevent these problems as well as provide you with good oral hygiene.

By following these oral hygiene tips, you can maintain healthy gums and teeth.

• Ensure that you properly brush your teeth including the gum, tongue, inside and outside your teeth surface.

• Floss properly after brushing your teeth to help remove food particles and other detrimental substances that brushing regularly cannot.

• Limit the intake of sodas, coffee and alcohol. They have phosphorous that may help deplete the body’s level of calcium, causing tooth decaying.

• Consume calcium and other vitamins that are good for the body and help strengthen teeth and gums.

• Clean the surface of your tongue daily. By using a professional tongue cleaner you remove countless bacteria that otherwise live, particularly on the rougher top surface of your tongue.

• And always visit your dentist at least twice a year to have a full hygiene treatment performed.

For more information about having healthy teeth and gums, come to Dr, Nisha Sapra – All Smile Dental Practice as you get your dental check ups done by us.

Dental Floss To Help Prevent Gum Disease...

18 May, 2016 3:25 PM

Many types of dental floss are available, either from your dentist or local retailer. Choose one that is best for your teeth.

If you have very tight contacts between your teeth and floss snags or breaks while trying to manoeuvre it through the contact, look for one that is specifically designed for tight contacts between your teeth.

If you have limited dexterity, try using one of the many flossing aides designed to eliminate the need to use both hands while flossing. Try to choose floss that contains fluoride.

When you have finished flossing, follow with brushing and rinse with either water or mouthwash. Try to floss before every brushing.

If you do not have time for flossing in the morning, always floss in the evening before your final brush of the day.
