Dental X-Ray & Imaging Centre is a leading dental x-ray imaging service provider that offers accurate and precise dental x-ray diagnostic services including orthopantomogram (OPG), between the teeth cavities diagnosis, IOPA x-ray, and TMJ disorders; with the help of its licensed professionals and state-of-the-art technology and tools. We provide quality digital dental x-ray and imaging solutions to evaluate an individual's oral health through images to increase the accuracy of results. Dental x-ray images help in identifying problems like tooth decay, cavities, and other problems related to the teeth and gums.

We deliver accurate and precise dental x-ray imaging services to help in clear identification and diagnosis of dental problems and also to reveal all the information about your teeth where a clinical examination will not, using intra-oral x-rays that are focused on the teeth and teeth-supporting tissues found in the mouth. while extra-oral x-rays will show the jaws and other parts of the head.

The services that we offer are as follows:

Digital X-Rays:
Digital x-rays have so far been one of the most salient technological advancements in the field of dentistry. At Dental X-Ray & Imaging Centre, we replace the use of traditional x-rays with digital x-rays for minimal exposure to radiation. Digital x-rays allow us to make an accurate diagnosis without having to use harsh chemicals and excessive film, and at the same time reduce the amount of waste material generated while imaging while helps provide results quicker when compared to conventional techniques.

Interproximal Cavities Diagnosis:
The diagnosis of interproximal cavities is usually made by an X-ray called a bite wing. This type of X-ray allows the dentist to accurately assess the extent of the dental cavity. The depth of the cavity is usually deeper than it appears on the radiograph. Although a clinical assessment by visual inspection can be made by your dentist, bite wings are a crucial tool for early detection.

TMJ Disorders and Diagnosis:
On advice by your doctor or dentist, we perform dental x-rays to examine your jaws to detect sites of pain and discomfort in your jaws when you open and close your mouth. CT scan will provide detailed images of the bones involved in the joint with pain, while MRI will reveal problems with the joint's disk or surrounding soft tissue.

Intraoral Periapical (IOPA X-Ray):
We make use of the intraoral camera when we need to take images of the tooth or gum from the outside. An intraoral camera is a pen-like apparatus that is inserted and shifted in the mouth to take images from various angles while looking into a monitor.

DENTAL IMAGING IN KENYA

Dental Imaging – X-ray technology allows dentists to diagnose and treat dental problems not yet visible to the naked eye, including early tooth decay, gum disease, abscesses and abnormal growth. It is almost impossible to imagine the practice of dentistry without x-ray pictures (radiographs). This diagnostic tool has prevented untold suffering and saved countless teeth.

Dental X-Ray & Imaging Centre is among the leading Digital Dental Imaging Service Providers in Nairobi, Kenya. This digital x-ray technology uses a small electronic sensor placed in the mouth to capture an image, which can be called up instantly on a computer screen.

Benefits of Digital X-Rays
Besides minimizing radiation exposure, digital x-rays offer numerous advantages to dentists and patients alike. These include:

• No chemical processing & no waiting. Reduces waste and other harmful chemicals. Your dentist can immediately show you the pictures on a computer screen for easy viewing.

• Offers better & more reliable imaging results/picture. Digital x-rays enable our experienced provider to instantly detect abnormalities in teeth, gums, enamel as well as tumorous masses, cavities & hidden dental structures

• Easy sharing and storage. Digital x-rays provide a better visual aide for you, the patient, to understand your diagnosis and treatment options. They can be e-mailed to different locations; they are also far less likely to be misplaced.

• Exposes the patient to much less radiation than traditional X-rays

• Gray-scale resolution of 256 colors compared to 16 to 25 shades on conventional film, allowing for a more detailed, accurate analysis

• Immediately transfers images to a monitor so that the provider can review and explain the information to the patient

• Images can be enlarged, adjusted, and saved for future reference

• Offers the ability to digitally compare your X-rays with one another

Digital Imaging is the ability of the operator to post-process the image. Post-processing an image allows the operator to manipulate the pixel shades to correct image density and contrast. Images can be stored in a computer and can be viewable on the same computer screen or be printed on paper or film. The images can be viewed in more than one room and can be used in conjunction with pictures obtained with an optical camera to enhance your understanding of treatment.

TMJ Disorder X-Ray in Kenya

Do you have trouble with your jaw? You could be a victim of TMJ DISORDERS. Before TMJ disorders such as damage to the ligaments, muscles and bones are corrected through surgery, a series of tests and x-rays to determine the underlying factors causing the facial pain must be conducted. TMJ (temporomandibular joint) disorders are a family of problems related to complex jaw joint. Dental X-Ray and Imaging Centre is a specialist TMJ X-Ray centre in Nairobi, Kenya, where results guide maxillofacial and oral surgeon to repair damage and restore the full functionality of the jaw.

Causes of TMJ Disorders
TMJ disorders develop for many reasons. You might clench or grind your teeth, tightening your jaw muscles and stressing your TM joint. You may have a damaged jaw joint due to injury or disease. Injuries and arthritis can damage the joint directly or stretch or tear the muscle ligaments. As a result, the disk, which is made of cartilage and functions as the “shock absorber” of the jaw joint, can slip out of position.

Whatever the cause, the results may include a misaligned bite, pain, clicking, or grinding (also referred to as crepitus) noise when you open your mouth or trouble opening your mouth wide.

Signs of a TMJ Disorder
• Pain in the ears
• Generalised intense facial pain
• Difficulty chewing
• Lockjaw
• Difficulty or restricted mouth movements
• Grinding or clenching your teeth
• Sore or stiff muscles around your jaws
• Frequent headaches or neck aches
• Pain when you clench your teeth
• Does your jaw click, pop, grind, catch, or lock when you open or close your mouth?
• Is it difficult or painful to open your mouth, eat, or yawn?
• Have you ever injured your neck, head, or jaws (fall from a height, “whiplash” injuries)?
• Have you had problems (such as arthritis) with other joints?
• Do you have teeth that no longer touch when you bite?
• Do your teeth meet differently from time to time?
• Is it hard to use your front teeth to bite or tear food?
• Are your teeth sensitive, loose, broken or worn?

The more times you answered “yes”, the more likely it is that you have a TMJ disorder.

TMJ and Facial Pain Disorders are generally characterised by chronic pain and tenderness in either or both jaws. Get in touch with us for professional Dental X-Ray and Imaging services.
