One of the most common crimes is burglary or home invasion and yet it is one of the easiest one to prevent.
Home theft or burglary whether you’re at home or away, can affect you and your family in more ways than one. Not only do you lose personal belonging and possessions, it can also affect your well-being.
There are a number of ways to enhance your security measures. Here are some points to consider when protecting your home:
1. Don’t Advertise You’re Away
2. Lock Up Your Home – doors are the easiest access to any home, make sure your doors are always locked, whether you are home or away.
3. Draw curtains and blinds at night to prevent thieves from taking a look at your belongings
4. Windows – make sure that your windows are closed when you’re away and at night, even when left partially opened, can be used as means of entry to your home.
5. Outside Lighting – a well-lit home ensures that you have visual of people coming or going around your premises
6. Keep your keys at bay – keys can be easily copied, and entrance to your house will be easily accessible to anyone.
