This is fed to heifers from the forth month of age. Its aim is for the animal to calve early (24-27 months). An average live weight gain of about 0.5kg per day is achieved.
It is well balanced to ensure optimum growth as over fattening of heifers severely inhibits milk production of under sized heifers is restricted due to incomplete udder development.
It is fed to heifers at the rate of 1kg to 2kg per day depending on the targeted dietary weight gain. It enables heifers to grow as quickly as possible to attain targeted live weight for first service.
